Steffi's teaching career has encompassed a period as artist in residence on a number
of schools projects as well as holding a permanent residency in a private school for four years.
Her versatility is evident in the range of activity she has initiated which has been exceptionally wide and varied
including running art courses for special needs adults and teenagers as well as gifted children studying for
scholarships, GCSE's and A levels.
She also maintains a small number of self motivated student groups who receive individual attention, examples of which
can be seen below.
Steffi is an accomplished and gifted teacher who derives great satisfaction from the teaching process. She has
an outstanding record of success with her pupils whether in formal examinations or in giving disadvantaged students the confidence to express
themselves fully without limiting their individual capability.

Sculpture workshops
This group have made some wonderful 3D pieces using clay and mod-roc.
|
 |
Various bits of found material have been used to create the underneath structure and then the mod-roc is used to cover the entire form.
It is then finally painted.
|
 |
The clay sculptures are worked purely from clay and are either painted or left natural.
|
 |
The finished sculptures are stunning and works to be proud of.

Feltmaking workshops are fun and rewarding and felt can be made by children or adults alike. If you
would like to try out something new, please contact me by email to arrange a workshop of your own tailored to
suit your timetable.

"I started attending Steffi's informal art evenings about three or four months ago, and have found her to be an inspiring
teacher and encourager. She is relaxed and puts us at our ease, but manages to challenge us to reach new heights.
Our class is a mixture of adults and teenagers of mixed abilities and each of us learns something new every time, from basic
techniques to advanced uses of different media. I would highly recommend Steffi as an art teacher/art group leader - her
creativity is wonderfully varied." - Janie Turner

"Steffi presents a unique and informal way to learn all aspects of art. Each session is tailor made
for the student or students which in turn allows individual preference and talent to shine through. My
sessions have allowed me to grow in confidence both artistically and emotionally."
|
"I have been a student of Steffi’s for over 3 years and during that time we have covered
a wide variety of media from oil paints to model making."
"Steffi’s style of teaching is very
relaxed and she encourages us to try out many styles of painting from copying a classic to modern
art."

All the group have improved greatly and have progressed from enthusiastic incompetence to
enthusiastic competence! Steffi teaches across a variety of styles & mediums in areas we feel
comfortable with as well as pushing our boundaries into areas we are unsure of, this has been
exciting and challenging as we have learnt many new painting techniques and skills along the way. I
would greatly encourage anyone to have a go.

Yasmin has spent a couple of years working with Steffi on a one to one basis, we have
covered many areas of art, particularly people, which Yasmin finds most inspiring.
This is Yasmin with her canvas in the style of Edouard Vuillard, an artist we studied
for a number of weeks.
