Barefoot I strolled through an expanse of green
Massaging mother earth with my soles
Inhaling cool dewy memories and dreams
Exhaling the burden of the old
My toes softly pressed against the roots of a tree
Which towered way up in full glory
My eyes devoured the outstretched arms swaying free
And my fingers ran across her strong body.
Slowly, I turned and rested back on her bark
That pressed firmly, imprinting on my blades
And there in silence I sat ’til it was dark
Pitch black – the moon entering a new phase.
Sky up above me
Earth beneath
And peace sat deep within my soul.
“I’m ready” I said and stood tall renewed with strength
“I know”, replied the breeze with quiet resolve
